I am a long time customer of Dana's, been coming in since the early 80's. I was in the shop the day the izzardking was there to pick up his truck. What I saw was a kid with a mouth on him, a mother with an attitude (I would have been embarassed to have my mom defending me at his age), and a shop owner who made the choice not to work on a vehicle. I talked to Tom, he showed me an estimate in his machine for $2,200.00 plus tax, but he didn't stop there, he called the local Jeep dealer and the cost of a "Factory" rebuilt unit was almost $2,400.00 PLUS INSTALLATION! Oh, and they only sell rebuilt units, not new. So to the kid who left tire marks in Dana's parking lot speeding out in anger, you might believe your own BS, but those of us who know Dana's will feel safer coming in knowing you won't be pealing out of there in the future.

Well, I was just looking for the phone number because I'm calling to get their recommendation on a friend's vehicle and I noticed they got blasted by somebody who wasn't happy. They treated me very well and I am compelled to support them. I bought a 2001 Yukon XL with the 8.1L engine and it immediately started shifting so hard it was giving me whiplash. Well, so much for the good deal on Craigslist. Not being totally happy with the last transmission place I used, I started asking around at the auto parts dealers and the most recommended was Dana's. I called around and they weren't the cheapest but sometimes you get what you pay for. I thought they did a great job and the transmission has been going strong ever since. They were very professional and courteous to me and my family. Now if they could just improve the mileage on that thing! I will definitely use them for my next transmission.

here is my dana's story, i had the transmission in my 5.9l jeep go out on me @ 150,000 miles or so and took it into dana's transmission for a quote, got a call back a day later with a quote of 2,800 plus whatever "extra" was broken or needed to be replaced, being from the field that i am, i'm used to not just taking the first quote around, we are required to get at least 3 quotes for every purchase we make, so i see no problem in "shopping around" and trying to find the hybrid in cost/quality, i found a better deal elsewhere so i had my car taken there, i got my new transmission installed for 1,600 with a brand new factory direct transmission from mopar with a 3 yr/unlimited mile warranty far better than anything Dana's offered. my transmission was installed and has been running fine, untill i swapped out the transfer case of a more rugged one, i did the work my self. During this process i may have messed something up, Dana's being the closest shop and thinking there was no hard feelings i stopped by to have them "tune it for me" untill i get an angry phone call from "THOM" chewing me out for taking my truck somewhere else, when i arrived to pick up my truck- i got a ride from my mother- i picked up my keys and left, she wanted to know why he was being like this and cussing us out over what is just a matter of economics/business, he then threatened to call the cops on me if i ever returned. This just floored me ... i wasn't even there talking to him ...at no time did i ever raise my voice or make any sort of insult, just merely pointed out i'm a 26 yr old guy who can't always afford everything so i got the better deal, and i wanted him to do some work for me that i could actually afford at this time.i have not seen anybody act so childish in a long time, i'll just leave it at that, check my reputation out @ thesamba_com and jeepsunlimited_com, quit having buddies write reviews for you, no one was there..check insider pages to i'm not the only one.
Pros: they were average in quote time and on the higher side of quote spectrum.
Cons: professionalism , higher of quotes recived, personailty, TEMPER,,and lying in review forums

Dana's was the most honest and had the best customer service I have ever experienced in an auto repair shop. I went there with a free coupon for a diagnostic check. They went right to it and the results were positive, nothing wrong with my car. Because of their honesty and the great customer service we brought my husbands car in. His transmission went out right at this time. Thom told us what different problems could be going on with the transmission, and quoted us prices for each situation. They took a little longer then we thought and for that they are replacing the heater fan in my car for free. Talk about service!
Pros: Great service, Honest!
Cons: None

I brought my Subaru in for what I thought was a broken clutch. Tom had the car on the rack and his mechanic performing a diagnostic on the car before I even got done filling out the paperwork. Unfortunately the problem was not the clutch, but a more serious engine problem. Tom really tried to help me find another used engine because he knew I didn't want to put a lot of money into it. I ended up not having the work done and giving it to my son instead since he is a pretty good mechanic. Tom didn't charge me a dime for the work they had done or storing the car until I could have it towed. Tom really values the customer and Dana's is a shop you can trust. I have done business at Dana's before and will certainly be back. Paul C. Anderson
