I've been coming here for years and have always been treated fairly and have received professional care for our tabby (who is a finicky guy sometimes!). My girlfriend also brings her two pit bulls here and has had nothing but great treatment from the vets here. Kudos

Pros: Professional and helpful doctors

Cons: Staff is a little gruff, but the doctors make up for it

I have never had a more negative, frustrating, and disheartening experience with a veterinarian than with Dr. Gertinger and Dr. Cornman. My boyfriend and I had to take our very ill kitten to their clinic three times in one week, and they made it clear they that didn’t have the best interest of the animal or its owner in mind. They suggested even more excessive diagnostic tests after we had already done several different unsuccessful tests and it was clear that our kitty's chances at recovery were very slim (and only possible if the cat were hospitalized with them for at least a month with a feeding tube placed). On two occasions did they not return my phone calls for a whole day when my cat's condition was clearly critical and we needed to make decisions urgently. Lastly, only after first suggesting that we do more invasive and expenisve tests, did she admit that it might be best to have him euthanized. I later fount out that she suggested to my boyfriend that we keep our sick kitty quarantined from our other cat, for reasons I don’t understand. By this time, I had done a great amount of my own research on our kitten’s condition, and of the two possible diseases he had, neither were contagious! Did she really want him to spend his last days sick and lonely without his friend? Our cat had a seizure on the next day, and it was clear to us that we had to put him out of his misery as soon as possible. When we called to let our vet know we were going to come in for the procedure, we were told that there were NO AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS! In the end, we had to drive him all the way across town to an Emergency Clinic. It pains me to think about how this all would have ended if we had listened to the Doctor’s suggestion and gone through with more tests. Our little kitten would then have spent his last day at a doctor’s office undergoing all kinds of invasive procedures. Or he would have been in a room, by himself, without the comfort of his friend.

Pros: None!

Cons: Don't care about their patients, impossible to contact when you need to speak to them urgently, expensive,

Earlier this year I had the grand misfortune of almost losing my pet to their greed and ineptitude. My older kitty was suffering some serious, but manageable (it turns out), problems requiring diligence and careful monitoring. I brought my kitty to their hospital and initially believed he was in good hands. In reality, they were not monitoring him in the fashion I had asked. When I enquired to his progress, they would tell me that his condition was not improving. Upon review of the bill (an invoice they wouldn't provide for me until AFTER the ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR bill was paid in full) I discovered that they were LYING to me. They hadn't done any of the specific, simple tests that were the ONLY way to assess his progress. They prescribed him 4 weeks of antibiotics for a one week stay (administering 1/4 of it while he was in their "care" and shafting me for the rest). They told me he was eating normally, but when I purchased the food THEY sell and brought it home he wouldn't touch it! It took me 30 minutes with a wet towel to wash the crusted antibiotics out of his fur (he's a squirmy guy) and he'd lost a considerable amount of weight. They kept my cat for an entire week (I finally decided that something was dreadfully wrong and removed him --against their wishes) in the PROCEEDURES ROOM! He was eye level with the proceedures table. He must have believed that I abandoned him to a kitty torture chamber. I took my cat home and made an appointment with Dr Boudreaux at the Capital Hill Animal Clinic (BEST VET I'VE EVER SEEN) and the cat that the vets at Broadway were telling me had 2 weeks to live has now gained ALL the weight back, his health is improving! He's my best friend and cost isn't the biggest issue (I'd do anything for him) but! It's also like 1/10 the cost! I seriously believe that all professional monitoring entities in the state should be keeping very close tabs on these people.

Pros: He didn't die

Cons: He could have

Every doctor and technician at this clinic is knowledgeable, compassionate, and extremely considerate about what owners can and cannot afford. They give the absolute best care to my animals, and they always give me pricing options, like, here's the best thing to do and the most expensive, or we can get most of what we need to know with this cheaper test, etc. When my dog has an annual exam, they ACTUALLY EXAMINE HER. Seriously, head to toe, every system. Their compassion, their knowledgeable staff (even and especially the reception!) have earned by eternal loyalty. Two paws up!

Pros: considerate, compassionate, knowledgeable care.

Cons: parking is a bit challenging, but worth it.

THIS WAS THE WORST VETERINARY CARE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED IN MY LIFE! not only were they expensive {overcharged}, but when i arrived to pick up my puppy from boarding for 10 days she had lost a great deal of weight. The nurse explained to me that she had "attitude" when they tried to give her shots and nipped at one of the technicians. I was worried & asked if the bite was serious, "no. didn't break the flesh." he explained "just attitude". He proceeded to explain how because of this behaviour she was placed in a quarantine of solitary confinement for 6 days. I couldn't believe it. She weighs 3.6 lbs. He said that she wouldn't eat & therefore wouldn't use the bathroom, so they gave her an enema. Never once did they call me to let me know of this problem they were having with. He recomended I pay $250 min. for a consultation w/a dog behavioral specialist through them. The day I picked her up she drank so much water she threwup & couldn't jump up on to things because she was so weak from not having any nutrients. 2 days & she is finally starting to get back to her normal self. I was so appaled at this I felt it necessary to write a letter warning everyone of this clinic. They use high prices as a cover for their seedy operations. They charged me for all of this sh*t I never asked them to do, like clip her nails $35! I noticed that they keep some dogs outside in gravel cages. I saw a miniature poodle, maybe 10 lbs. in one. It has been regularly below freezing. They don't walk the dogs while they're boarded. The people at the front desk are wonderful, which fooled me. I had met the veterinarian previously and didn't like her right away. She reads too many books about caring for dogs that her ideas of care are so far out she thinks hugging your dog too much is harmful to its behaviour. While i dissagree with her, I never thought my dog would be in danger there. hope you listen & take your pets elsewhere X

Pros: friendly front desk

Cons: too many to list!

I do NOT recommend this vet- boarded my cat here one time and in my absence they ran 400$ worth of lab tests on her when I had specifically asked them to call me if any sort of examination or care was needed. Very expensive vet- I'd instead recommend Cat Clinic of Seattle over on Stone Way- they seem more reasonable and upfront about costs and I never feel as though they're doing excessive work just to get more money.

Pros: friendly office staff, convienant location

Cons: very expensive, not up front about boarding costs

I have taken my dog here for three years and am sad that I will be leaving my vet behind when I move to Seattle. As to previous concerns to the cost. It is a bit spendy but, you get what you pay for. Also, I have had no problem arranging payment plans. As to not getting an itemized list of charges I have never seen this to be true. Recently I took my dog in to get several teeth removed and the rest cleaned. The technician sat down with me and explained every item on the lists(and it was a big list). Also when I requested to be called if the procedure might go over the estimate they had no problem with that. It came in under budget, by the way.

Pros: excellent care, friendly and helpful staff

Cons: a bit pricey

I am not a veterinarian so can't say for sure, but I have a feeling these people overcharged me. I took my very old cat there because his kidneys were enlarged. After doing several tests, all they could tell me was that a) his kidneys were abnormally large; and b) several blood and urine tests revealed that he was in the early phases of kidey failure. For some reason, all this cost me $350. I tried several times to get a breakdown of exactly what I paid for, but could never get a straight answer. The staff are very nice, but I would absolutely go elsewhere if you don't have infinite financial resources to spend on your pets, and if you're concerned about what you're being charged for.

Pros: very nice staff

Cons: too expensive

I will completely agree with previous reviews that the care at this facility is top notch. The staff is very courteous and takes great care of our pets. Unfortunately, we were told that there were certain tests that needed to be run. We were advised that sometimes the samples could die before making it to the lab. We accepted that risk. After getting results back, we found that the samples did in fact die before getting to the lab and we were informed that they can never get the samples there in time. I feel that if it's "never" a successful venture, it's not a solution that should be offered to a patient and I should not have had to pay. It only resulted in nail-biting for results that were never going to come back.

Pros: Staff Attitude, Facility

Cons: Cost, Opens later than some
